After doing a quick search and before running off to re-up on some basic art supplies to bang out a pair of GourmetKickz I decided to post this coupon for ya’ll. Michael’s gives you an all red version which will inevitably kill your printer if you run enough of them or least eat all your costly red ink. So last night I wanted to break out something that I haven’t worn in a long time. Since I was already wearing an olive military style shirt I decided on these Camo-Soled AF1′s from late 2004. Any time I wore these in the past I always used some version of my home-made DeCreaseR. Being that I had not broke these out in about 3 years I used my finalized DeCreaseR on them. Above is a picture of how they look AFTER a long night on the town with The DeCreaseR installed. SUCCESS yet again. The DeCreaseR is always the sh!t when it comes to preserving my most cherished kicks! Just had to share!

So I was chillin with the GK Crew yesterday and we decided to stop by and check on Harley at Mass Appeal in Plainville, CT. Harley recently did some renovations to the shop so I was curious to see what the new layout looked like. I was very pleased with the outcome and was surprised to see that the shop has a new mascot! So a friend of a friend saw the silk screened Air Yeezy “So Amazing” Kanyessieur pt. II shirt I designed, but wanted it in a different color. Hmmmm, not such an easy task unless she wanted to order 50 of them and pay for me to rescreen the shirt in another color! Ha Ha! So being the type of guy that I am, I came up with another way to “remix” the shirt and serve up the flavors she wanted.

Her goal was to get the shirt to match these sneakers:

So after base coating all the black and magenta areas of the shirt by hand in white acrylic (shown in the first image) I ended up with this as the final product, thusly spawning a new service I am now offering on my site and on ebay.

Here is a project that has just been completed. I was hit up by Ari of Ari’s MixTapes.com to do a pair of customs using his website as the theme. Ari had no hi-resolution images, but even with just a great idea and some low res screen captures, I was able to cook up this masterpiece. Unique logo placement sets these kickz apart from the batches of other customs out there. But remember who bakes ideas into masterpieces the best… Chef of GourmetKickz. in fact check out the picture below to see the original 3D render Ari had to sign off on for creation.

This one is for the ladies. The lyrics to the song are inside the “Ego” text and all parts of the shirt that appear to be light green GLOW IN THE DARK!!

Ok so I had to do it. Pretty simple and straight-forward. As you can see the shirt pulls elements of both the song and Kanye himself. The heart has been influenced by Yeezy’s album cover. Pre-order opening at 8:08 tonight and available tonight in Men’s sizes is the “Gourmet Ego / Big Ego” T-shirt in Black and White. As with my previous Yeezy-influenced tees, all the white parts glow in the dark. Proceed to GourmetKickz T-Shirt selection called GourmetK0tton to pre-order the above tee. Only 48 shirts will be made in each color, so once pre-order reaches 48 per color, the shirt will no longer be produced. If you see another tee like this, it’s just a copy cat. I really hate the camera sometimes, but 203Lifestyle Magazine came by last month to do a piece on me and took this picture. I think it’s pretty decent. I didn’t really rock any heat that day, but did break out some Obsidian Seamless AF1 Lows from like 2005 that I hadn’t seen in forever. I think it’s time to start reaching from the bottom of my piles and un-deadstocking some shit from 5 and 6 years ago.

I just watched a documentary on Sundance about Marc Jacobs. The documentary followed Marc during his creative process in designing for both his own label and mega-monster luxury brand Louis Vuitton. I gained a whole new respect for not only Jacobs, but fashion designers in general. It’s amazing to see how images, shapes, feelings, and textures all affect designers as they interpret these stimuli and create from them a jigsaw of beauty. From LV’s “Patchwork” bag to the Takashi Murakami collaboration initiative, nothing but genius and a genuine respect and love for the arts is evident in Marc Jacobs’ execution and dedication to his craft.

Watching Jacobs’ team work tirelessly down to the wire before both his own runway show in NY and that of Louis Vuitton in Paris reminded me of what it was like to churn out handmade piece after handmade piece under deadline. I was also reminded of how lucky I was to be picked by a global brand like Jose Cuervo to interpret 1800 Tequila’s artwork and launch a series of custom sneakers in their homage. Pressure and time beget diamonds, such is also true in fashion. Jacobs’ team worked day and night to make deadline and hurry each meticulous piece to the runway show only moments before an anxious audience waited to see his creations for his own line in NY and that of Louis Vuitton. In an heir of great expectations, innovations were born, timeless beauty was achieved and cutting edge fashion transcended from sketch to stage.

Marc Jacobs has a deep respect for art and humbly regards his own art to be beneath that of the very artists who look up to him and his creations. It is this lack of arrogance, this genuine respect for beauty and innovation that has placed Marc Jacobs atop the pinnacle of fashion design.
